Winter Blaahs

It is March and when I look out my window I see this:

This is our first winter up in the Pacific Northwest. I had no idea it would last this long. However, according to the locals here it usually does not snow in March and the snow does not stay on the ground this long either.

Yesterday the sun came out and the kids and I got excited. I suggested that we all go outside and ride our bikes. I got all four little ones bundled up and we headed out. By the time we got outside it was pouring rain. Laying in the stroller little Bear was wailing, Kitty said that she was cold and wanted to go inside, Parrot was eager to get on his bike despite the weather and Monkey giggled not caring about what we did. I had the final say and after ten minutes of being cold and wet we went back inside.

Once we were in the house and all our jackets were hung up the sun came back out. Just my luck.

Butt Monkey

Monkey doesn't talk very much, but we are working on adding new words to his vocabulary every day. Recently, as I was changing his diaper I was trying to get him to say his first name.

I kept on repeating, "What is your name, little boy?" over and over again. Finally he replied, "Butt."

I laughed hysterically. So now we call him "Butt Monkey." I think that one is going to stick.
